Since DLA's are a static 20km addition, not a percentage.
First:
On mathematics when doing A + B * C, B * C is ALWAYS done before the adition. So parenthesis there are redundant. (it's a pet peeve of mine to be **** about this, sorry)
Second, and last:
Although the item is not well defined in the item database here, you can look at it in the ingame database, do it.

Even more, I bought 3 of them, some time ago, and wanted to go to the upper limits of my controling ability.
20 + 5*5 + 3*3 = 54 km
Ok, so 3 should have let me attack to 114 km, no?
Alas, no, they didn't. They fell short.
But they reached over 90 km. Then is when I saw my failure, it was not 20km but 20%, so they went just over 93 km away. (93.312 to be exact)
No one is perfect, specially me. Have fun.

2) just testing this, because I'm 90% sure your wrong.
in my ishkur. put on a sentry drone and a mining drone. no DLA, went to the nearby roid belt.
I have scout drones 5, EW Drone Interfacing 3.
targeted a roid at 54km (of course this means its slightly above 54km) neither drone would "activate" on the target.
targeted a roid at 53km. both activated.
so far so good, this is as it should be without a augmentor.
went back, put on sensor booster and DLA. went out to 70km from a roid, targeted,
now, if its 20km flat, then it will work because the new range is 74km.
if its 20% then it won't, because the new range would be 64.8Km.
target... engage target/mine. :gasp: no "drone not responding" message from the sentry drone, and the mining drone starts flying in that direction.
to be quintuple sure, I put on 2 DLA's and 2 sensor boosters, ... 89km away from a roid. and... no error message from the sentry drone, and the mining drone starts to duitifully fly in that direction.
now, I'm not claiming they never changed it... but currently it IS 20km flat.
